The Electricity Program Advisory Board Meeting was conducted virtually through the BAUNMEET platform
As the Department of Electricity and Energy at Balıkesir University Edremit Vocational School, our core vision is to continuously enhance the quality of our education and to prepare our students for the professional world with the highest level of competence. A vital pillar of this vision is our Departmental Advisory Board, which serves as a dynamic bridge for university-industry cooperation.
Comprised of industry leaders, experienced engineers, and public sector representatives, our board monitors the currency of our educational programs and provides guidance in reaching global engineering standards.
The Departmental Advisory Board convenes at least twice a year with an official agenda. The advisory decisions taken during these meetings are meticulously evaluated by the Departmental Academic Board and integrated into our educational curricula.
Our first meeting of this year was held online on April 9, 2026, and the following key decisions were reached:
Currency in Education: Evaluating the alignment of our curriculum and laboratory content with the technological transformation in the electricity sector (smart grids, renewable energy, digitalization, etc.).
Strategic Planning: Aligning the department's long-term goals and research focus areas with market expectations.
Career and Development: Providing mentorship support for students' internships, technical visits, and industry-oriented graduation projects.
Quality Assurance: Periodically revising our educational processes based on the feedback of external stakeholders.
